Who Can Join

If you’ve been thinking about opening an account with STJ Federal Credit Union, there’s never been a better time! We’ve recently expanded our field of membership, allowing us to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school within Stark County. In addition, we still serve our original membership: Catholic Community of Stark County.  Best of all, lots of people are joining, including students, church employees, and your friends and family.
Today, we are open to the following member groups:

  1. Any person who lives, works, worships, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Stark County, Ohio.
  2. Immediate family members or household, and organizations of such persons.

As a not-for-profit, completely member-owned cooperative, we exist to meet the financial needs of our membership. Our core membership is religious based. We plan to keep this original part of our charter and hope to continue to thrive by expanding our membership to the community as well. Credit unions are an economic democracy. Each credit union member has equal ownership and one vote - regardless of how much money a member has on deposit. At a credit union, every customer is both a member and an owner.

*If you’re an employer with a business located in the Stark County area, and would like to know more about becoming a STJ Federal Credit Union member and the benefits this would provide your employees, please give us a call today.

How do I apply for membership?

If you’re interested in becoming a STJ Federal Credit Union member, a Member Service Representative is ready to help you! To open an account, or to request more information, visit our branch, call, or email us, and we’ll walk you through the process.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. For you, this means we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask you to provide the following forms of identification when opening an account:

  1. A copy of your valid state issued Driver’s License
  2. A copy of one other form of identification, such as your Social Security Card, a student or worker ID, valid credit card, birth certificate, military or other government ID, etc.

Once a Member, Always a Member

Once you become a member of STJ FCU, you’re considered a member for life. Changing jobs, relocating, or retiring does not affect your membership status.
